The Lowcountry After Irma

Once again we weathered the storm here in the Lowcountry and thankfully the impact of Hurricane Irma was nowhere near what we anticipated just a few days before it arrived. I know that may not be easy to hear for the person who got a tree on his car or across her porch, or whose garage was flooded, but we are grateful that things like that were rare.

Even more to be grateful for, we saw the strong preparations and the organized response. Our community knows what it’s doing in times like these and that includes the Towns, the County and most of all our neighbors. Reminders that we are backed up by the care of good folks are just one of the ways we enjoy the life we’ve built here, as we watch the coming of another beautiful fall season.
Although we didn’t see big damage here, the effects of the recent hurricanes in other states will likely still have a long term impact on the Lowcountry. What we can see already at the gas pump is sure to show up in materials too, both because of the rising cost of transportation and the significant demand in other areas of the South.
So if you’ve been thinking of building your home in this beautiful place, we suggest you take that into consideration in terms of your timing. With nearly 40 years of experience here, we’re standing by to help with advice and information, so give us a call at 843-681-2600 or visit our website at TomPeeplesBuilder.com.
As always, we hope to live up to our motto, “We make building a pleasure.”
