With the holidays here, I’m thinking how grateful Mary Ann and I feel for our life in the Lowcountry.
After growing up in nearby Ridgeland, I first got to work on the construction crew in Harbour Town in 1973 and moved up to master carpenter thanks to the skills I learned from my Dad. And it was Mary Ann who encouraged me to get my builder’s license and start my own company. We chose to make our home and raise our son Josh here, and I was honored to serve as Mayor of Hilton Head Island for 15 years.
So, I’m mindful how much I owe to family, friends and the community as a whole.
Not only did we build our life and our home here, but we also saw people find a way to cooperate on balancing growth with nature. It wasn’t perfect or easy, so we know how many blessings had to come to pass for us to see the beautiful, hospitable Lowcountry we enjoy today.
As we look to 2020, we see a lot of factors coming into alignment that make “now” a good idea for anybody who’s been thinking about building or remodeling. Interest rates have remained low. Material costs are headed up, and that makes sooner better than later.
If you have been thinking about building or remodeling, it’s a good time to do that. We can help. We’ve seen the cycles here, and over time they’ve always repaid the careful decision.
And, with Tom Peeples Builder, you can be sure you’ll get the finest in service, craftsmanship, and integrity. We’ve worked hard and patiently to live up to our promise: “We Make Building a Pleasure.”
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!
